Dr. Laurianne Paravisini

Assistant Professor, Flavor Chemistry

Dr. Laurianne Paravisini is Assistant Professor of Flavor Chemistry in the Food Science and Technology Department at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Her expertise is understanding flavor through the integration of analytical chemistry, sensory science, and artificial intelligence. Dr. Paravisini has over 15 years of experience in flavor research across academia, startups, and global corporations.

Originally from France, Dr. Paravisini holds a bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Lille, a master's degree in Flavor and Fragrance Chemistry from the University of Montpellier, and a Ph.D. in Flavor Chemistry from INRAE in Dijon, completed in partnership with caramel manufacturer Nigay through a CIFRE industrial fellowship. Following her Ph.D., she moved to the United States to continue her research in flavor chemistry in academia before transitioning to industry. She subsequently held scientific leadership roles at Beyond Meat, International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), and Osmo, a Google spin-off, where she led multidisciplinary research at the intersection of flavor chemistry, analytical chemistry, sensory science, and emerging technologies.

In June 2026, she returned to academia to help bring greater visibility to the field of flavor science and train the next generation of flavor scientists while building the scientific foundation for flavor digitization.
